Pink Panther Birthday Cake

Dear Chicago House,

So, Miss Chicago teen had a birthday yesterday and in a throw away comment last week, she said she wanted a Pink Panther cake for her birthday.

Now I am not one to pass up on a challenge.

I made a simple sponge base and iced it with a tasty lemon icing. Then I got crafty with a box of white fondant, making quite a mess of my hands as I tinted it with food coloring.

She was nicely surprised when she got home from school and I got a big hug!

Animal Crossing Cake.

Dear Chicago House,

I mentioned last week that Chicago teenager has been on a creative roll. Here is another one of her creations...this time made in the kitchen.

A fun Animal Crossing cake.

She make this for a very old friend who visited this past weekend. They have been buddies since she was three and over the years have enjoyed many hours playing Animal Crossing.

We bought a packet of white fondant (or as Buddy on Cake Boss would say fondaaaant) and she made the colors by adding food coloring. The two figures are their characters from the game

It was very yummy!
